GTA 6: Trailer 3 clues explode, Sony and Take-Two are clearly cranking up the machine
For the past few days, the GTA community has been on fire. Between the emails Sony is shipping to PS4 owners, Strauss Zelnick's repeated interviews and the first marketing moves around GTA 6, a lot of fans now think Rockstar Games is finally lining up the long-awaited Trailer 3.
And honestly? Every signal is starting to point the same way.
First, players who added GTA 6 to their PlayStation Store wishlist have started getting Sony emails recommending they jump to a PS5 to be ready for launch day. GTA 6 is a next-gen exclusive at release, so Sony looks like it is already prepping a mass migration of PS4 owners to PS5.
A campaign like this rarely happens by accident. To a lot of fans, it reads as the start of the "mainstream" communication push around GTA 6.
In a string of recent interviews, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has been everywhere on the game. He confirmed that the GTA 6 marketing campaign would kick in "soon," with a real ramp-up scheduled for this summer.
In another interview with Bloomberg, Zelnick stressed that Rockstar wants to serve its "core audience" first, which means console players. A line that only reinforces the idea of a heavy marketing partnership with PlayStation around the PS5.
And of course, the community is starting to connect that to a possible Trailer 3 drop.
Over the past few days, fans noticed GTA 6 appearing directly inside Sony financial presentations, sitting next to PlayStation's biggest exclusives. At the same time, Game Informer started teasing a major reveal for next week, fueling theories about a new trailer or the opening of pre-orders.
Rockstar is now in the home stretch before the November 19, 2026 release, and historically the studio always speeds up its communication a few months before launch. So a lot of people figure May or June is exactly the right window to drop Trailer 3.
On top of that, Strauss Zelnick keeps sending very confident messages about the state of the game. The Take-Two boss recently said Rockstar is chasing "perfection" with GTA 6, while also calling the expectations around the game "terrifying."
A way to set the stage… and keep public attention dialed all the way up.
Obviously, Rockstar Games has not officially announced anything about Trailer 3 yet. But one thing is for sure: it had been a long time since this many GTA 6 clues stacked up at the same time.
