Rockstar Games has finally put a date on the moment the whole community was waiting for. Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI open on June 25, and the studio used the occasion to unveil the official box art.
With launch locked for November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, June 25 becomes the first real checkpoint in the countdown. Better still, GTA 6's price drops the same day.

June 25, a date at last
After months of placeholder retailer listings and insider guesswork, Rockstar settled it: pre-orders on June 25, on digital storefronts and at select retailers.
No surprise on platforms. GTA 6 launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. No PS4, no Xbox One, no PC version at launch. The timing fits Strauss Zelnick's plan, a campaign that ramps up four to five months before release: June 25 sits exactly five months ahead of November 19.
A box art true to the series' DNA
The cover is pure Grand Theft Auto: the franchise's signature grid, a mosaic of illustrated panels around the logo, unchanged since the series went HD.

At the top, the two protagonists, Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, the first time a duo has anchored a mainline GTA cover. Around them, everything that says Leonida: the helicopter, the motorcycle, the woman in a bikini, Boobie Ike with his gold chain and shades, the yellow sports car, robber Raul Bautista rifle in hand, the speedboat, and an alligator baring its teeth under the logo. Loud, sun-soaked, unmistakably Vice City.
The price, the same day
This is the most anticipated detail: GTA 6's official pricing will also be revealed on June 25.
It is the number the whole industry is watching for. Rockstar has kept editions and pricing off the table. Until the 25th, every quoted price is an estimate, not a fact.
What we still don't know
Nothing is confirmed on the editions, the pre-order bonuses, or any Collector's edition, which usually lands as a separate reveal closer to launch. The PC version remains the great unknown: Rockstar has only ever said "later."
One thing is certain. With a pre-order date and a cover, GTA 6 stops being a far-off promise. The countdown to November 19 just got very concrete.
