What editions has Rockstar officially announced?
Zero. As of May 3, 2026, Rockstar has not published a single edition of Grand Theft Auto VI. No standard, no deluxe, no collector.
The only price confirmation on record is Strauss Zelnick's statement to the press in March 2026 that the standard edition will land in the $70 to $80 range, "consistent with current AAA standards". Beyond that band, every "edition" you see online today is speculation, an analyst hypothesis, or a placeholder retailer page.
The boxart reveal is the moment the edition list goes public. Rockstar has not dated it. The expected window is May to August 2026, tied to Trailer 3 and the marketing campaign Take-Two committed to in February.
What editions to expect
Rockstar has shipped GTA V (2013) and Red Dead Redemption 2 (2018) with three or four edition tiers each. The pattern is consistent enough to use as a reasonable reference for GTA 6, with the caveat that nothing here is confirmed.
Central estimate (RDR2 + AAA inflation): Standard ~$74.99 · Deluxe ~$94.99 · Ultimate ~$104.99 · Collector's Box ~$119.99.
| Edition | What it likely includes | Expected price |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | The base game, digital or physical. | $69.99 to $79.99 |
| Deluxe / Special | Standard + GTA Online launch cash, an exclusive vehicle, a cosmetic pack. | $89.99 to $99.99 |
| Ultimate | Deluxe + extra GTA Online perks, more vehicles, additional cosmetics. | $99.99 to $109.99 |
| Collector's Box (no game) | Physical merchandise: collectible chest, map, art prints, themed items. Sold separately. | $99.99 to $149.99 |
The price band for the deluxe and ultimate tiers is informed by what Rockstar charged for Red Dead Redemption 2 ($79.99 Special, $99.99 Ultimate) plus the AAA $10 to $20 inflation that has hit pricing since 2018.
Standard edition
The base $70 to $80 game, digital or physical. No DLC, no bonus cash, no exclusive vehicle: this is the right pick if you do not play GTA Online and you mainly want the story campaign. Still to confirm: the exact tag inside the band ($69.99, $74.99, $79.99), whether a Steelbook variant of the physical disc will exist, and the size of the day-one update.
Deluxe or Special edition (likely)
The mid-tier edition aimed at players who want a head start in GTA Online from day one. Historical reference: on GTA V, this tier added $1M in-game, one or two exclusive vehicles, and a cosmetic outfit. Price likely lands between $89.99 and $99.99 (RDR2 Special Edition at $79.99 plus AAA inflation).
Ultimate or Premium edition (likely)
The top digital tier, GTA Online focused: a larger cash pack than the Deluxe, more exclusive vehicles and cosmetics, a property or business ownership starter in-game, possibly a head start on a cosmetic pass. Price expectation $99.99 to $109.99. Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter's note pointing to a $100 tier with GTA Online perks lines up exactly with this slot.
Collector's Box (separate, no game)
This is the wild card and the strongest E-commerce play. Red Dead Redemption 2 shipped a Collector's Box at $99.99 that did not include the game, only physical merchandise: a collectible metal chest, a double-sided cloth map, a treasure map, a set of playing cards, a wheat penny, a challenge coin, and other items.
For GTA 6, a Vice City themed Collector's Box is plausible but not announced. Possible items based on the leaked map and the Trailer 1 and Trailer 2 imagery:
- A printed Leonida state map.
- A Vice City Bay area print, postcards, neon-style art prints.
- A 1989-themed beach decal sticker set.
- A collectible prop tied to Lucia Caminos or Jason Duval.
Treat any specific Collector's Box content list circulating online as fan speculation until Rockstar publishes it on the Newswire.
When will Rockstar announce the editions?
Rockstar typically announces the edition list and pricing alongside the boxart reveal, days or weeks before the pre-order window opens. The triggers to watch:
- A Rockstar Newswire post that is not about GTA Online. Most likely Trailer 3, then a separate "Pre-orders open" or "Editions" post a few days later.
- The Take-Two Q4 FY2026 earnings call on May 21, 2026. A reaffirmed November 19 launch plus a high FY27 forecast tightens the marketing window. Editions follow the marketing wave.
- Boxart appearing in the wild. Rockstar has historically used Miami physical billboards and a Times Square wall to wake the world up to a new boxart. If a wrap appears in Miami in May or June, the edition reveal is days away, not months.
Where to pre-order GTA 6 editions
Every edition will be available on the official storefronts (PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Rockstar Store) and through major retailers. The full per-region store list is in the GTA 6 pre-order guide. On big Rockstar launches, the Ultimate Edition and the Collector's Box tend to sell out within hours of pre-orders opening.
We update this page on every edition signal: a Newswire post, a boxart reveal, a retailer SKU, or a Zelnick pricing statement.
